Exclusive adviser to KMR Holding Pédagogique for the acquisition of one of the leading private universities in Morocco

January 2018 - Afaya Partners was retained as adviser on an exclusive basis by KMR Holding Pédagogique – the leading state-recognized multi-disciplinary private higher education platform in Francophone Africa - for the successful acquisition of private Moroccan university owned by Laureate Education, Inc. and SOMED, Université Internationale de Casablanca (UIC).
The services of Afaya Partners covered the strategic, commercial, and operational due diligence of Université Internationale de Casablanca, as well as the definition of strategy, development of business plans and growth projections. The services of Afaya Partners will continue after the acquisition conducting the interim management of UIC till KMR recruits a new CEO for the institution. Université Internationale de Casablanca, which opened its doors in 2010, is the first and only comprehensive private university in Casablanca recognized by the Moroccan State with the Reconnaissance status, which means the degrees awarded by UIC have the same legal value than the degrees awarded by the public universities, and give to its graduates the access to regulated professions and to the public administration.
